The Black And Whites

Welcome to my blog about my black and whites! I'm an adult amateur eventer, working towards becoming a professional. I currently am leasing a 12 year old Irish Sport Horse mare named Belle who I have been working with for about 6 months now. I'm new to the sport of eventing, in the past I have only ridden Western and my family is quite big into barrel racing. This was never for me, I always wanted to jump and do either show jumping or cross country, and even though I expressed my interest from an early age about switching I was never allowed to because "jumping was too dangerous". So 8 months ago I made the switch to English, started working towards eventing and becoming a professional in the horse world. I admit, it's hard just beginning English riding, I feel as though I should be more advanced than I am, after all I have been riding since before I could walk, but English and Western styles are just so different I was nearly a complete beginner. Now, the 2015 spring eventing season looms on the horizon and I am signed up and ready to do my first 3 events. I'm excited for the future and to see what I can accomplish with my horse and trainer.

I should also mention the second black and white, because he's really the best. I have a 3 year old border collie named Floss, and he is in a word, amazing. I am also excited to share my journey with him as we search for a baby mama to continue his prolific lineage and as I continue his training (or really he continues training me).
